Requests to the Municipality

A building permit is required when your project involves construction, transformation, expansion or reconstruction of:

  • A main building (residential, agricultural, etc.);
  • An accessory building;
  • An agricultural products sales kiosk

To apply for a permit, you must complete the application form and submit all the documents and information required and essential for the proper understanding of your project.

A certificate of authorization is required for all types of work, with some exceptions, other than the construction of buildings. You will find most types of jobs requiring a Certificate of Authorization inside the application form. If you are uncertain or need assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us. However, here are a few examples of the most common types of work:

  • Renovation
  • Septic system
  • Well
  • Swimming Pool/Spa
  • Driveway/Culvert
  • Demolition

The subdivision permit is necessary, with some exceptions, when a cadastral operation is carried out on your property (subdivision of the land, merger of two lots, etc.).

When your project does not comply with a provision of the Zoning By-law number 264-2008 or the Subdivision By-law number 265-2008, it is possible to file a minor exemption request. If your project requires an authorization under the Regulation respecting site planning and architectural integration plans, you must complete the application form below:

For a conditional use request concerning the operation of a tourist residence (short-term rental of less than 31 days with self cooking service), please fill out the form for this purpose.

Each time you want to build an open fire (campfire, burning of branches, etc.) you must obtain a permit from the Lac-Brome Fire Department, regardless of the season. To apply for a permit, please complete the form by clicking on the link below.
